His family moved to Anchorage in the 60’s and he eventually worked on fishing boats, the Trans Alaska Pipeline and went off to photography school to become a photographer. X̱ʼeidé Larry has been a photographer for decades and also earned the rank of full professor working with young people. His work is in many of the well-known national and international museums, which makes the Juneau kid in him gratified.
