REAL INDIANS
REAL INDIANS, 1977. This photograph has set the tone for just about all of my work made to date. The photograph is a self-portrait of me leaning against an old Rez car with a 'Real Indians' trading post sign from the old Route 66 on the Santo Domingo Rez in New Mexico in the background. I still love that photograph. Notice any resemblence to the "In the True Spirit of White Man" image made in 2002? I made this photograph while I was a student at Brooks Instiute.
